Powder extinguishers

This is the most popular type of extinguisher, in which the extinguishing agent is powder thrown out by means of compressed gas. They are designed for extinguishing fires of groups A, B, C or B, C, depending on the type of powder used. The advantage of powder extinguishers is the possibility of extinguishing live electrical equipment. They are used to secure: public buildings, industrial and storage halls, road, rail and water transport. It is not advisable to extinguish mechanical devices in motion, as they may cause them to seize. Powder extinguishers must not be used to extinguish oil and fat fires in kitchen appliances.
